Dr Bronner Organic Castile Liquid Soap - Tea Tree
Tea tree is a popular addition to skincare and household products for so many reasons – it can help reduce dandruff, repels head lice, protects against fungal infections (both on the body and around the home) and prevents acne-causing bacteria. Plus, it just smells really invigorating and refreshing!
Luckily, there’s no need to buy a cupboardful of tea tree products for your skin and home; all you need is this tea tree castile soap! It works perfectly as a hand soap, body wash, shampoo, washing up liquid, surface cleaner and even laundry detergent.
It’s completely organic, natural vegan and cruelty free too – bonus!
How to use liquid castile soap
As a hand soap or body wash: Add a few drops to wet hands, lather onto wet skin and rinse well.
As a shampoo: work ½ tablespoon (or a quick squirt) into wet hair, or dilute two teaspoons into 100ml to last a few washes. Rinse hair with vinegar to rebalance pH. Note: castile soap may not be suitable for coloured hair.
To wash dishes: Dilute 1 part soap with 10 parts water.
As a surface cleaner: Add 1-2 tablespoons soap to 500ml water in a spray bottle. Using the tea tree version will help prevent mould from building up.
As a toilet cleaner: Quarter-fill a spray bottle, top up with water and spray around toilet bowl. Sprinkle baking powder on the toilet brush and scrub. Leave for 10 minutes and flush.
As a hob cleaner: Fill a third of a spray bottle with castile soap and top up with water. Sprinkle the hob with baking powder, especially crusted or burnt-on areas. Spray on the castile solution and scrub with a sponge.
As a floor cleaner: Add 2 to 3 tablespoons to a mop bucket of water.
Remember: these dilutions can be adjusted according to skin type/sensitivity, hair type, or the dirtiness of the surfaces you wish to clean. Make a few adjustments until you find what works for you.
