Preconceive Folic Acid Protection for your unborn child. Preconceive contains 400 micrograms of folic acid in a simple one-a-day tablet. Folic acid is necessary for the normal development and growth of healthy tissues and cells. Medical studies have shown that by taking the Department of Health's recommended daily dose of 400 micrograms it is possible to help prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida forming in babies in the womb. A folic acid supplement such as preconceive should be taken prior to conception and during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
