Stomach bitters such as Centaurium are used to improve digestion. They do so by increasing both the secretion of digestive enzymes and gut motility. These actions, mediated via the hormone gastrin, enhance the breakdown of food which then helps to relieve symptoms of indigestion such as nausea, flatulence, fullness and gastric discomfort. Alfred Vogel knew that the most effective way in which to benefit from Centaurium, known to herbalists as a stomach bitter was to take it in liquid form. The organically grown plants used in this remedy are harvested just as they come into flower to create a sharp tasting tincture which Alfred Vogel recommended. Directions:

Adults: 10-15 drops 3 times daily before meals, in a little water. Children (2-12 years): 1 drop per year of age 3 times daily before meals, in a little water.
